SAC Incorporated

Design Engineer

OVERVIEW

This is one of the many projects I did for SAC Incorporated as a Jr. Project Engineer.

The Design Layout process included these steps:

  • Contract review to understand scope of work and standards SAC adheres to, such as some of the ASTM standards by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).

  • Plan and preparation of design support layout for water treatment pipes, which include understanding of pipe processes, pressure points, compression & decompression of pipes and account for such with pipe supports.

  • Support layout by choosing the right support per certain applications.

  • Review and redline plans after I received them back from the CAD team.

  • Prepare calculations per templates created by the Engineering team and make any updates if calculations require so (this step, combined with the previous step, take a few tries to get it correct, depending on the review process and updates from Engineering & CAD teams).

  • Submit for final review by licensed engineer and make any updates if needed.

  • Submit to client and refine based on their feedback.
