About

Henry Murillo

HELLO!

My name is Henry Murillo. I have over 6 years of experience in the fields of Graphic, Branding, Industrial, CAD and Visual Design.

I attended the Multi-Disciplinary Design program (MDD) at the University of Utah, graduating in 2016. At the time, the MDD program was part of the architectural program as the two paralleled in academic studies.

My duties as a Jr. Project Engineer at SAC Incorporated included planing & coordination of the scope of work per project, review of contract plans, prepare structural support layouts, collaborate with clients, engineering and CAD team, review drafted plans, sections & details, prepare calculations and overall manage each project in order to meet schedule.

In the early days at SAC, I shared roles as a CAD designer and a Graphic Designer. This role consisted of drafting 2D drawings from engineering structural support layouts, detailing plans, sections, and support details. Part of my job was to collaborate with engineers on discrepancies and thorough the review process before handing it over to engineers for calculations.

During my time at Klugonyx, I was part of the industrial design team working on the development of physical products, packaging, and some branding efforts, in addition to internal & external presentations. Collaboration with the Design and Engineering teams on prototypes was an every day occurrence, which made it one of the best parts of working there. The communication and involvement in product design taught me so much about the design process, to which I still use today.

With all this experience as a multi-disciplinary designer/engineer, I have been able to gauge what I enjoy and what I want to be part of. My love for architecture has been a constant one, and I would love to pursue a career in it, now that my skills parallel this field. My goal is to align myself with an opportunity to work for an architectural firm that can benefit from my current set of skills and continue a formal education in architecture to learn and give myself the best chances at becoming a licensed architect - in like, 100 years or so...

Thanks for taking the time to view my portfolio.
